What a percentage costs you.
Most billing platforms take a share of everything you bill. Enter what you bill in a month and the size of a typical sale, and read what each one would charge beside a flat plan.
The average sale only matters for the per-transaction fees. Estimates in whole dollars.
At $25,000 a month with a $50 average sale, the other platforms cost between $175 and $1,625 a month. yRecurring is $99.
| Platform | Per month | Per year |
|---|---|---|
yRecurring Flat plan for the band; your own gateway's processing fee is separate | $99 | $1,188 |
Stripe Billing 0.7% of billing volume pay as you go, or the published monthly plan if cheaper (one year contract); processing separate | $175 | $2,100 |
Chargebee Flow: the cheaper of 0.80%, or $99 plus 0.65%; processing separate | $200 | $2,400 |
Recurly Starter: $249 plus 0.9% above the first $40,000; processing separate | $249 | $2,988 |
Maxio Grow: $599 up to $100,000 a month, paid annually; quote above | $599 | $7,188 |
Paddle 5% plus 50 cents per transaction as merchant of record; includes processing and tax | $1,500 | $18,000 |
Lemon Squeezy 5% plus 50 cents per transaction plus 0.5% on subscriptions as merchant of record; includes processing and tax | $1,625 | $19,500 |
Competitor pricing is taken from their public pricing page, checked 24 September 2026. If something here is out of date, tell us at [email protected] and we will fix it. Paddle and Lemon Squeezy are merchants of record, so their fee includes payment processing and tax handling; every other row, yRecurring included, is billing software only and you pay your payment provider's processing fee on top.
Questions about the numbers
Where do these numbers come from?
Each vendor's public pricing page, read on the date printed under the table, and applied to the volume you enter. Where a vendor publishes no price at a volume the row says so instead of guessing.
Why are Paddle and Lemon Squeezy so much higher?
They are merchants of record: the fee includes payment processing, sales tax and VAT handling, chargebacks and buyer support. The other rows, yRecurring included, are billing software only; you pay your payment provider's processing fee on top. Add roughly 2.9% plus 30 cents per card payment to those rows for a like for like number.
What does yRecurring charge above the band?
If you grow past your band in a month, the overage is 0.5% of the volume above it, capped at the next plan's price, so a growth month can never cost more than the plan you would move to. Above $500,000 a month, pricing is custom.
Is this the price I will pay?
It is an estimate from published rates at a steady monthly volume. Contracts, discounts and add-ons on the other platforms change the real figure; the yRecurring figure is the published plan for the band.
